Introduction
- These Regulations should be read in conjunction with the General Academic Regulations for undergraduate degrees here-in-after referred to as General Regulations.
- Learning outcomes/objectives
- To prepare diploma and certificate holders with knowledge and skills, which enable them to effectively operate in agriculture.
- Promote the use of total biological and agricultural knowledge to manage crops, soils and livestock.
- Develop research for solutions to national and international problems.
- Duration of Programme
- The minimum duration for the degree programme shall be four years and the maximum shall be eight years.
- Entry Requirements
- Have at least 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English Language, Mathematics and one Science subject incorporating Biology and Chemistry (like Integrated Science, General Science, Agriculture or Chemistry and Biology) at grade C or better plus either a diploma or equivalent in Agriculture or related field of study from a recognized institution.

- A certificate in Agriculture or equivalent plus on ‘A’ level pass in a Science subject, preferably Chemistry or Biology.
or
- ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects, e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics
- Have gone through the Accreditation of Prior Learning route.
- Exemption Qualifications
- A student may, in approved cases, be exempted from certain entry requirements provided that the student shall have successfully completed approved degree courses elsewhere and that the student shall be required to complete at least three quarters (75%) of the programme courses through Zimbabwe Open University.
- Be exempted in accordance with the General Regulations; or have an equivalent university entry qualification;
- The student must fulfill the conditions 4.c.i and 4.c.ii below to qualify for exemption;
- The syllabus of the institution from which the student completed the course must be equivalent in content to at least 80% to the course being applied for exemption.
- The student in the given subject/course must have obtained a pass of 60%, 2.2 or C+ which ever is applicable.
- To ascertain the student’s competence in the course the university may grant exemption by requesting that the student take an exemption examination for the course.
- Programme Structure
- The student is expected to accumulate a minimum of 100 credit points to be considered to have met the requirement of the BSc Agriculture Management.
