The Bachelor of Information Technology is designed to cover a wide range of information technology topics. Throughout the programme, students will develop skills to confidently take on a wide variety of job roles where the ability to put together various elements of information and communication technologies into a seamlessly integrated solution is crucial.
The course has been designed to provide graduates with:

The course provides the foundations that will underpin ongoing professional development, preparing graduates for further study or for a career in a computing related field or in other areas where the range of skills and knowledge acquired is needed or desirable.

Entry-level knowledge and skill requirements gathered from potential employers of graduates have been translated into learning or programme outcomes for graduates of this programme. In particular, our graduate is going to be able to select, create, apply, integrate and administer computing technologies to meet the needs of users within a societal and organisational context. As such, on completion of this program, students are expected will be able to:

Today, information technology is such an integral part of most businesses that the profession of being a computer expert has broadened into a multitude of specialised occupations, involving networking, software development, computer security,and designing graphics or interfaces. Duration of programme
The minimum duration for the degree programme shall be eight semesters and the maximum shall be 16 semesters.
A minimum of 5 ‘O’ Level passes including English, Mathematics and a physical Science subject at grade C or better. Applicants who hold a certificate or diploma in computer studies or have experience in the Information Technology industry will have an added advantage.
Mode of Delivery
The programme will be conducted using the problem based approach within the framework of open and distance learning. The teaching/learning system will use modules, peer groups, e- learning platform weekend tutorials and other approaches.
