I take pride in my association with the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU).  My studies with ZOU awakened the potential in me and today I am the Founder and Chairperson of a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Hope Resurrect Trust (HRT).

My name is Florence Mudzingwa and I did my Bachelor of Science Honours in Counselling with the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) from 2015 to 2019. What a remarkable journey it has been. I am currently the Chairperson for a Non-governmental Organisation, Hope Resurrect Trust which I founded in 2013. The thrust of Hope Resurrect Project is to give trust, confidence and hope to people living with a disability.

I became more disciplined in doing work and discovered my potential and limitations in the process. I love reading and through ZOU I grew an appetite to research in more areas in-order to gain more insights. I have made it a point to read at least 5 or more books in a month.

The ZOU Staff were amazing, from the lecturers to the administration team. They made it easy for me to get information. Being a person with a disability, I found that distance learning was the way to go as one focuses on personal or career goals whilst empowering oneself through education and at ZOU they surely made my four years memorable.
