ZOU’s Edward Museke Triumphs at NUST “Golf for a Cause” Tournament, Championing Healthcare and National Outreach

Edward Museke, an Accounting Assistant at the Zimbabwe Open University (ZOU) Matabeleland North Campus, emerged as the 2026 NUST Annual Golf Champion on July 3, 2026. Outplaying a competitive field of over 90 golfers at the Bulawayo Country Golf Club, Museke claimed first place with an impressive 46 points.

The annual “Golf for a Cause” tournament, hosted by the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), brought together elite golfers from the corporate sector and top universities, including MSU, CUT, GZU, and HIT, to raise vital funds for equipping Bulawayo’s Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Ekusileni Hospital.

Edward Museke in the battleground: The fairways of the Bulawayo Country Golf Club, which hosted over 90 golfers for the charitable event, proudly representing the ZOU brand: Showcasing ZOU’s national and global footprint from the greens.

• National and Global Brand Visibility: As the champion, Museke secured a rare podium spot alongside the host, NUST. He utilized the address to market ZOU’s expansive footprint, highlighting its presence across all 10 regions of Zimbabwe and its “11th Region,” which enables international distance learning from anywhere in the world.
• Corporate Alignment: Museke expressed gratitude to ZOU for sponsoring his entry fee, reinforcing the university’s institutional commitment to supporting critical national healthcare initiatives.
• Triumph Over Challenge: Traveling from Hwange, Museke overcame significant logistical and financial hurdles, personally securing resources for his travel, upkeep, and caddie fees, to deliver his winning performance.
