The strategic initiative, executed in partnership with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), formally embeds anti-corruption frameworks into the university’s governance structure to safeguard the value of its qualifications.

Professor T. Njaya the Pro Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Enterprise Development, stood in for the Vice Chancellor. Speaking in his capacity as the Chairperson of the ZOU Integrity Committee, Professor Njaya emphasized that the pledge is a deeply binding cultural commitment rather than a mere administrative formality.

“Integrity is more than a principle. It is a habit. It is a culture,” Professor Njaya stated. “The Pledge that we make today is not just a formality; it is a public declaration that we choose to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct.”

Demonstrating unified institutional alignment, the student body was led by National Student Representation Council (SRC) President Alpha Zigara, who also serves as the Mashonaland West Regional Campus SRC President.

Under the guidance of Dr. T. G. Kasuso, the ceremony concluded with Regional Director Dr. L. Kadziya, lecturers, and administrative staff stepping forward to sign their individual pledges. By institutionalizing this annual covenant, ZOU continues to align its academic operations with national anti-corruption strategies, positioning ethical governance as the ultimate prerequisite for higher education.
